The Peaks Nieuwpoort Swim: 1.9 km or 3.8 km

The Peaks Nieuwpoort Swim is part of Long Course Weekend Belgium, a three day multisport event.

In addition to swimming on Friday, you can also cycle on Saturday and run on Sunday. You can take part in one or multiple disciplines and create your own race weekend. You can also choose the FULL LCW or HALF LCW. With these challenges, you will receive an exclusive XL Goodie Bag and be included in a separate ranking. Participants in the FULL LCW will also receive an extra fourth medal.

The swim takes place in seawater in the inner harbour of Nieuwpoort. Thanks to its sheltered location, there is little to no current

Accessibility & Parking

We recommend coming on foot, by bike or by public transport. Parking is available within walking distance.
You can easily add a parking ticket during registration. More information will follow soon.

The participant pack can be collected at the athlete check in at the Fish Market in Nieuwpoort (Kaai 2, 8620 Nieuwpoort).

Course & start procedure

The course consists of one lap of 1.9 km. The 3.8 km distance completes two laps without leaving the water.

The race starts with a rolling start from a pontoon. Participants enter the water one by one, there is no mass start.

The 1.9 km race starts first, followed by the 3.8 km.

Cut off times

1.9 km: 1h40
3.8 km: 2h15

Refreshments

Refreshments are provided at the finish.

Changing rooms, bag drop & showers

Changing rooms and a secure bag drop are available at the Long Course Weekend festival area. Showers are available at the Nieuwpoort Sports Complex.

Medal ceremony

Every finisher receives a medal. Participants in the FULL Long Course Weekend are eligible for an extra fourth Long Course Weekend medal during a special ceremony on Sunday at 16:00.

Name or distance change

Name and distance changes can be made directly via your personal account.

Name change: €5
Distance change: €5 (any price difference will be charged)
No refund when switching to a cheaper distanced

Cancellation

Cancellation protection is offered via a third party and covers various reasons such as illness, injury and family emergencies.

You will receive a 100 percent refund if you are unable to participate for a covered reason. The price depends on the selected race.

Wetsuit

Wetsuits are mandatory when the water temperature is 15.9°C or lower. At higher temperatures, wearing a wetsuit is optional.
You can rent a PEAKS wetsuit here via our partner Blue Globe Sports.

The water temperature will be communicated shortly before the event.
